Stavros Tsitiridis | Exploring Palimpsests

In this first solo exhibition, an attempt is made to include the artist’s sense of life and the world. A journey, with the freedom to make it as far as we want. A ship in a sea, whose horizon is the meeting of the visible (earth) with the Divine or the inconceivable infinite (heaven). And this trip has everything: storms, ports, places you observe from afar, places you live or visit. The others, as mental fellow travelers, are implied: sometimes they merge with the artist, sometimes he observes them from afar. In the works presented, the new covers the old, letting it breathe, where exploration through the storm always leads to new worlds and the image is a moment that contains time, experience and emotion....more

Stavros Tsitiridis was born in Germany in 1972. He studied at the University of Nursing, with a master’s degree in health services administration. He started painting as a self-taught artist about 10 years ago, and for the past 5 years he has been attending classes at the art.edu.gr workshop of the painter and artist Elissavet Dionysiou, located in Kolonaki.
