LIMINALITY A moment in time where something ends, yet nothing else has begun. The present becomes, simultaneously, both future and past. It is an indistinct boundary—a dynamic, fragile equilibrium of time that seems to hover in suspension. In these works, waiting becomes the primary mechanism of perception. The gaze is turned toward something indefinite. Forms, landscapes, and objects are captured within a moment of pause—a moment of subtle, imperceptible change. Liminality is a human experience, an inherent part of our lives. What are we waiting for? Whom are we waiting for? Where are we waiting? How? Why? When? Expectation, uncertainty, and a state of suspension form complex mental pathways through time—a time that offers no resolution, but instead prolongs and renews the act of waiting in an endless, vicious cycle. And then, one day—with wrinkles on your brow and graying hair—time begins to slow down. You possess, yet you do not possess. You no longer know what to expect. You look back on all those days when you did not know how to wait. The mind empties, becoming a blank canvas that renews itself each day—ready to capture the NOW. A drink at a bar, a hot coffee, a journey by train or tram—all attempt to capture the delicate balance between decay and endurance. Waiting—whether curled up in bed or seated in an armchair—transforms into an active state of alertness, a moment in which the NOW is experienced, free from superfluous thoughts and emotions.
