Popi Mitsopoulou | The Sketches of Thessaloniki

The Sketches of Thessaloniki are an alloy of experiences, thoughts and emotions of the cartoonist, who, however, seeks to touch on the struggle of every person for self-realization. The confrontation with the given, the contemplation, the impasse, the loneliness, the effort, the paths we chart, constitute the material of these sketches. Material familiar and common to everyone, especially in the years of youth, given in a caricatured way, as there is no more serious way than the humorous one.

Popi Mitsopoulou was born in 1977 in Thessaloniki. She studied painting with the painter Frida Sfyridis, and archaeology at the University of Thessaly. She lives and works in Athens. [Biography updated on: 1/10/2025]
