A trip to Vietnam served as an occasion to confirm Proust’s re-contemplative thought that in essence the true destination of our travels is not the places but the new perspective that our encounter with each place offers us. The true destination of Angeliki Kastrinelli’s trip to Vietnam was her reconnecting with the magic of life and the gaze of surprise. She felt like she was becoming a child again and regaining innocence, lightness, awe for the unknown, and faith in magic. Seeing the place, through the regression of impressions, thoughts, and emotions that she unconsciously harbored within her, broadened her gaze and spirit, revealing to her that the magic of life is a matter of the invisible and the mystery that permeates the entire spectrum of our everyday lives. It only takes one click to leave aside the familiar, the familiar, and what seems trivial to us and to rebuild the world, within us and around us, facing it with a gaze of astonishment. Because it is this gaze that heals our personal and collective wounds and brings us face to face with the wonders of the world.
