Achilleas Alexandrakis | Gobi the Desert

Vastness – Awe – Admiration With these 3 keywords, Achilleas Alexandrakis captures his experiences on the images he creates with his photographic lens. A photographer with a free spirit and a special approach to the places he visits and the people he talks to. Achillea’s images, no matter how realistically they depict the respective landscape, take you on a journey through his intensely imaginative look and restless spirit to another dimension full of color, light and emotion. A dimension starring landscapes from another planet. The endless treacherous and frozen wild Gobi desert with its imposing sand dunes and vast arid plains with canyons and burning mountains with dinosaur fossils. The oases with the eternal glaciers, the steppes with the famous majestic Bactrian camels and the green meadows in the highlands of central Mongolia with the proud wild Takhi horses. The Yurts-Girs, the unique type of home for the nomads of this country, and of course the legendary emperor Genghis-Khan, one of the leading personalities who ever walked the earth and who influenced Western civilization. Editing / Image Manipulation: Christos Kanakis
