Marianna Arvaniti | Artistic Memories and Paths

Marianna Arvaniti believed that the arts, especially the visual arts exalt man aesthetically and spiritually, acting as intermediary between the individual and the natural–social environment, so that the daily routine is enjoyable and creative. Her works are plucked through genuine and honest confrontation of artistic creation, applying consistently the language of painting laws on everyday images, bringing calm and serenity, which is in need by modern man. This calm and inner emotion that exudes her works was the reflection of the inner content of her personality.

Marianna Arvaniti (1959–2016) was born in Thissio, Greece. She studied painting with teacher Theodore Pantos from 1985 to 1989 and Art History with Manos Stefanidis. Since then she worked in her atelier and her works inspired by her perception that the magic of painting is to portray the physical and social reality through her own rules, with the ultimate goal of aesthetic and cultural uplift of the people, so that the everyday life becomes a feast. She has had solo and group exhibitions in Greece and abroad. [Biography updated on: 30/9/2016]
